Plate No. 12 What you are building
Tiki bar plans for a backyard tiki bar you can build in a weekend. Three builds in one kit: a 6 ft tiki bar with a pitched roof, an 8 ft three-sided patio bar with no roof, and a matching 30 in bar stool. Easy numbered steps with one clear drawing for every step, so if you can put together flat-pack furniture, you can build this.
The builds: the 6 ft tiki bar has a smooth, solid 42 in bar top (glued-up 2x6 boards, sanded flat and sealed) with a 12 in overhang for stools, a 36 in back counter, and a pitched roof on four 4x4 posts, framed in wood and finished with an optional thatch roll or a corrugated panel. The 8 ft patio bar has three sides (a front bar and two wings), a smooth 42 in top with a stool overhang all around the outside, and no roof. The matching bar stool has a 30 in seat, also one smooth glued-up top. All three use ordinary 2x4, 2x6 and 4x4 outdoor lumber, with a 1x6 skirt. Every important part (joists, top boards, rails, beams, posts, stool seat) is checked against a stated load.
