Terms of use and sale

Last updated 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and Cozy River Studios, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("DIYDupe", "we", "us"), the operator of diydupe.com. By using this site or buying, downloading or using any plan, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the plans.

1. What you are buying

DIYDupe sells digital, downloadable do-it-yourself build plans: printable PDF files, spreadsheets and related sheets. No physical item ships. Your purchase is complete and delivered when the download page is made available to you.

2. Your license

When you buy a plan set we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, print and use it to build the pieces it describes for your own use, your household or as a personal gift. You may not resell, share, distribute, upload, republish or sublicense the files, drawings or text, in whole or in part, or use them to create competing plans or products. Building pieces from our plans to sell commercially requires our written permission. All plans, drawings, text, images and the site itself remain our property and are protected by copyright.

3. Plans are general information, not professional advice

Our plans are generic DIY plans. They are not engineered, stamped, certified or code-approved drawings, and they are not professional engineering, architectural, construction, electrical, gas, fire safety or legal advice. Load checks, ratings and design assumptions printed in the plans are planning figures for the stated design basis only; they are not tested ratings and do not account for your materials, workmanship, site, climate, soil or use. Drawings are not to scale. Plans may contain errors or omissions despite our care. Where your project involves structural loads, elevated platforms, play equipment, heat, fire or gas, electricity, attachment to a building, or anything a local code or permit governs, consult a qualified professional and your local building authority before you build.

4. Your responsibilities and assumption of risk

Building furniture and outdoor structures involves real risks, including serious injury from tools, falling or tipping objects, fire, and failure of a finished piece. You build and use anything made from our plans entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for:

  • checking and following all local building codes, permits, setbacks, homeowner association rules and product safety standards that apply to you;
  • choosing sound materials, and hardware rated for the loads involved, and following every manufacturer's instructions, ratings and warnings;
  • using tools safely, wearing appropriate protective equipment, and following each tool's manual;
  • verifying every dimension, measurement, quantity and calculation before you cut or buy;
  • the quality of your workmanship and the safe installation, anchoring, inspection, maintenance and use of anything you build;
  • supervising children and keeping them safe around tools, construction and finished pieces. Bunk beds, wall beds, play structures and other pieces children use or that can tip, fold, lift or fall need particular care and regular inspection.

5. Estimates, prices and comparisons

Build-cost estimates, materials quantities and "in stores" price ranges on this site are approximate and for general information only. Estimates use typical prices and will differ from your actual costs. Retail price ranges describe comparable finished products as listed by major retailers when we researched each page and may have changed. Nothing on this site is a quote, an offer from any retailer, or a promise of savings.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE, THE PLANS AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY AND COMPLETENESS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLANS ARE FREE OF ERRORS, THAT ANY PIECE BUILT FROM THEM WILL BE SAFE, SUITABLE, CODE-COMPLIANT OR FIT FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL COZY RIVER STUDIOS, LLC, DIYDUPE, OR ITS OWNERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF MATERIALS, PROFITS, DATA, USE OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE, THE PLANS, OR ANYTHING BUILT OR USED BASED ON THEM, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SITE OR ANY PLAN IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR THE PLAN GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY DISSATISFACTION WITH A PLAN OR THE SITE IS A REFUND OF THAT AMOUNT UNDER OUR GUARANTEE, OR STOPPING YOUR USE OF THE SITE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cozy River Studios, LLC and its owners, members, employees, contractors and agents from any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from anything you build or use based on our plans, your use of the site, or your breach of these terms.

9. Refunds

Our 30-day guarantee is the only refund policy that applies: write to us within 30 days of purchase and we will fix the problem or refund the price you paid. Refunds do not cover materials, tools, labor or anything else you bought or spent to build.

10. Third-party links and affiliate disclosure

The site links to other sites, including Amazon, and some links are affiliate links that may earn us a commission at no cost to you. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party products, prices, availability, ratings or instructions; your purchases from them are between you and that seller. 11. Names and trademarks

Our plan names describe a style or look. DIYDupe is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any furniture retailer, brand or manufacturer, and our plans are our own original designs and drawings. Any third-party names are used only to describe or compare and remain the property of their owners.

12. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Prices are in US dollars and may change at any time; the price you pay is the one shown at checkout.

13. Disputes

Please contact us first; most problems are solved with a fix or a refund. Any claim must be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding, and within one year after it arises, to the extent the law allows. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes and the rest

We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version here; the version in effect when you buy applies to that purchase. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, the guarantee and the privacy page are the whole agreement between us about the site and the plans.
